Lympha Press, mechanical lymphatic drainage

Lympha Press, or mechanical lymphatic drainage, improves quality of life by reducing swelling. The treatment begins with a manual treatment of the lymph nodes in the neck area. After the treatment, the patient shall wear support stockings or sleeves or lympha bandaging shall be applied.

With this method, edema due to the following reasons can be treated:

  • Primary lymphoedema
  • Inborn or hereditary edema
  • Secondary lymphoedema
  • Mastectomy, or breast removal
  • Removal of inguinal lymph nodes
  • Chronic venous insufficiency
  • Post-traumatic edema
  • So-called elephantiasis tropica
  • Other indications
  • Lipoedema
  • Venous insufficiency
  • Venous ulcer patients
  • Aftercare for varicose vein surgery
  • Optimisation of wound healing
  • Sports injuries

Contraindications

  • Serious vascular calcification (arteriosclerosis)
  • Ischemia (lack of blood or oxygen to the tissue)
  • Untreated myocardial infarction
  • Untreated high blood pressure
  • Suspected blood clot or identified blood clot
  • Erysipelas or other bacterial infection
  • Skin transplantation in the healing phase
  • Pulmonary edema
  • Sudden pain or feeling of numbness during the treatment
